Believing in her own self-worth gave my client the confidence she needed to lose 20 kilos and to keep them off.
35 year-old client Janice had been overweight for years, until she came to see me.
She discovered in hypnosis, that unconsciously, it was safer for her to accept carrying around a layer of fat than to deal her own lack of self-worth.
She struggled with emotional eating. So have most of my weight loss clients.
It’s not that they don’t want to put in the effort. They have struggled valiantly with this issue for years. But no matter how hard they try, they can’t sustain it for long.
As a child, Janice’s parents had emigrated to Hong Kong and had left her with an auntie until they got settled. It took over a year. Unconsciously she concluded that she wasn’t loveable enough to accompany them. That belief became so embedded that no matter how much she tried, she couldn’t risk the disappointment of becoming attractive only to discover that underneath, she wasn’t worthy of it.
Whenever she tried to lose weight, that depressing self-belief sabotaged her attempts and she would want to eat.
In hypnosis, she was able to see how wrong that negative self-belief was. She realised that she was loveable and worthy of achieving whatever she set her mind on. Since then, she has made lots of changes in her life that reflect what she feels about herself.
She has more options now.
She is slimmer and more confident. Her body language says it all. She feels attractive and it shows.
When I followed up a few months later, she was full of plans for the future and excited about her life.
