I’m thrilled to share a hypnotherapy problem many of you might recognize—a client’s battle with insomnia, rooted in a habit we’re all guilty of: endless scrolling. “James” (name changed) arrived exhausted, with all the signs and symptoms of insomnia.
His evenings? A cycle of scrolling through his phone while cooking, watching TV, or even in bed. His mind had been trained to crave constant stimulation, leaving his nervous system too wired to unwind.
The Problem: Scrolling had become a reflex, his brain looking for the next dopamine hit and eroding his ability to relax. By bedtime, he had difficulty falling asleep. He also had trouble staying asleep because waking up at night triggered him to open his device.
The Solution: Through hypnotherapy for insomnia, we:
1. Rewired habits: Replaced scrolling with calming rituals (deep breathing, stretching)
during idle moments.
2. Anchored calm: Used visualization to create mental “safe spaces” and transition from
busyness to stillness.
3. Built a sleep routine: A 60-minute screen-free wind-down with dim lights, herbal tea, and mindfulness.
The Result: Within weeks, James fell asleep faster, woke refreshed, and reclaimed control over his habits. His story reminds us: Sleep begins in the mind. Hypnotherapy taught his unconscious mind to practice natural remedies for insomnia and broke up the endless loop of his online scrolling.
3 Quick Tips for Better Sleep:
1. Screen-free hour before bed: Read, stretch, or journal instead.
2. Pause before scrolling: Ask, “Is this necessary, or just a habit?”
3. Create a calming ritual: Think of 3 things you’re grateful for, plan some things you’ll really enjoy doing the next day, or do a few minutes of deep breathing.
If insomnia or unhelpful habits disrupt your peace, hypnotherapy can help rebalance your mind—gently and without force
