  ELLEN'S BLOG
 Take me to the Unconscious

I want to share my thoughts, my musings, and some of my clients’ stories with you here so you have some insight into how inspiring this work is.

Hypnotherapy, or hypnosis as it’s also referred to, has an endless bank of amazing and transformative personal stories. In many of these stories, we resolve a specific problem that you may mistake as having a trivial impact on a person’s life.

What really happens though is that eachchange results in a domino effect on a person’s life, relationships, and happiness.

In each of these stories, my clients dared to take that first step to contact me because they knew they could expect more from their life.

Hypnotherapy for Bad Habits: Rewiring Your Unconscious Mind

hypnotherapy for anger

We all have habits we’d like to change—whether it’s nail-biting, hair pulling, emotional eating, smoking, procrastination, or excessive screen time. These behaviors often feel automatic, as if they’re controlled by a part of us we can’t easily access. That’s because, in many ways, they are. Habits form in the unconscious mind, where repeated actions become ingrained patterns. The good news? Hypnotherapy can help break bad habits by working directly with the unconscious to install healthier, more desirable behaviours.

How Hypnotherapy Helps Break Bad Habits

Research supports hypnotherapy’s effectiveness in habit change. A study published in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis found that hypnosis significantly improved success rates in smoking cessation compared to willpower alone. Another study in Psychology of Addictive Behaviors showed that hypnotherapy helped reduce compulsive habits by reinforcing self-control at a subconscious level.

Here’s how it works:

1. Accessing the Unconscious Mind – Hypnotherapy bypasses the critical conscious mind, allowing direct communication with the part of us that drives automatic behaviours.

2. Reframing Triggers & Rewards – Many habits are sustained by unconscious triggers (stress, boredom) and rewards (temporary relief). Hypnotherapy helps rewire these associations.

3. Installing New Patterns – Through suggestion and visualization, the unconscious mind can adopt new, healthier habits that feel just as natural as the old ones.

The Power of Transformation

One of the most satisfying aspects of my work is witnessing clients break bad habits with hypnotherapy and step into a stronger version of themselves. There’s a profound shift when someone realizes they’re not “stuck” with a habit forever—they have the inner mental power to change.

Whether it’s a smoker who no longer craves cigarettes, a chronic procrastinator who now takes action with ease, or someone who has overcome emotional eating, the transformation is deeply rewarding—for both of us.

Ready to Overcome Habits with Hypnotherapy?

If you’re tired of fighting the same habit loop, consider hypnotherapy. Unlike sheer willpower, which often leads to frustration, hypnosis works with your mind’s natural ability to adapt and change. You don’t have to white-knuckle your way to success—your unconscious can do the heavy lifting.

Break bad habits with hypnosis and discover how good it feels to make lasting change—effortlessly. If you're ready to explore how hypnotherapy can help you, [book a session/contact me] today. Your future self will thank you.
